Details about the Star Wars project are not known at this time. In a statement provided to TheWrap, Disney co-chairman Alan Horn said: “We are excited about the projects Kathy and the Lucasfilm team are working on, not only in terms of Star Wars but also Indiana Jones and reaching into other parts of the company including Children of Blood and Bone with Emma Watts and Fox. With the close of the Skywalker Saga, Kathy is pursuing a new era in Star Wars storytelling, and knowing what a die-hard fan Kevin is, it made sense for these two extraordinary producers to work on a Star Wars film together.”

Is this damage control after the whole George Lucas Hates Disney Star Wars news broke when Disney CEO Bob Iger spoke about his new book?

The Kevin Feige Star Wars developed project is the third non-Skywalker saga project in development at Disney/Lucasfilm. In November, 2017, Disney chief Bob Iger announced during a shareholder meeting that “Star Wars: The Last Jedi” director Rian Johnson will create an all-new trilogy set in the “Star Wars” universe by unconnected to the larger Skywalker epic. And in February 2018, Disney announced that “Game of Thrones” showrunners DB Weiss and David Benioff will develop a “Star Wars” trilogy of their own, entirely separate from Johnson’s.

No details about either Star Wars trilogy have been unveiled since those announcements, but in May, Iger said that Weiss and Benioff’s trilogy will be the first “Star Wars” project to follow this December’s “Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker,” with entries set to hit theaters in 2022, 2024, and 2026. Johnson’s trilogy has not yet been dated.

Kevin Feige has served as president of Marvel Studios since 2007 and in that capacity has produced all of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, which includes the highest-grossing box office movie of all time, “Avengers: Endgame,” and several other films that are among the most successful ever.

  • If Feigi has any chance to resurrect Star Wars, he needs to put Star Wars first above any political correctness, SJW, any actor/actresses ego or career opportunity. He needs people in front of and behind the camera with a history of making good decisions for the movie. He needs to figure out what made the originals create what made the sequels bad.
