Michael B. Jordan as black Clark Kent? Warner Bros, DC Comics & J.J. Abrams want to race bend Kal El for new Superman movie.
Apparently, a black Superman would be more relevant to the general audience instead of sticking to the source material. Despite there being a History of African American Superheroes in DC Comics, they feel the need to race swap Clark Kent to create a black Superman for the next DCEU film. Why JJ Abrams want a black Superman to lead DCEU? J.J. Abrams directing Superman would not be a good thing for the DC Extended Universe.
According to Variety, there have been discussions with J.J. Abrams, whose company Bad Robot recently signed a massive first-look deal with the studio, and there was a meeting with Michael B. Jordan earlier this year with the “Creed” star pitching Warners on a vision for the character. However, Jordan isn’t ready to commit to taking on the project since filming doesn’t seem likely to happen for several years and he has a full dance card of projects. Insiders think that a new Superman film is unlikely to hit screens before 2023, given that there’s no script and no director attached.
Man of Steel failed because Henry Cavill lacks charisma and Zack Snyder is a bad director. Sorry Release the Snyder Cut fans!
