Florida Man breaking news, Gainesville police arrested Eric Rim, 22, after they say the Florida man sped past officers directing traffic and pedestrians, then threatened to **** a woman because an officer had damaged his vehicle.
The Gainesville, Florida man was arrested after GPD say he drove recklessly past law enforcement directing pedestrians, one of whom threw his flashlight at the vehicle to slow it down. The man then threatened to **** the Gainesville Police Department officer for damaging the vehicle, and a woman who had upset him during a fight.
Eric Rim, 22, drove past the officers, who were on foot, in the 1300 block of Southeast 17th Terrace Saturday at about 12:50 a.m., according to a Gainesville police arrest report.
Gainesville, FL Man Eric Rim’s vehicle was traveling at about 60 mph when it approached the area where the Gainesville Police Department officers stood, the report said.
Gainesville Police shouted and used the strobe setting on a flashlight to indicate Florida Man Eric Rim to stop, but he continued, the report said.
An officer swung his flashlight at the vehicle, the report said, in a final attempt to stop the vehicle.
Florida Man Eric Rim continued driving to his residence, where he noticed damage to his vehicle, the report said.
Gainesville, FL man told two women inside his Gainesville home he was angry a flashlight had been thrown at his car by a police officer, took out a handgun and said he would **** the officer, the report said.
The Florida man also grabbed one of the women inside by the neck, threatened to **** her and said he would dispose of her body in the prairie, the report said.
Eric Rim contacted GPD at about 11:28 a.m. Saturday to make a complaint about the vehicle damage, the report said.
Gainesville Police Department arrested Florida Man Eric Rim on charges of fleeing police, reckless driving, aggravated assault with a deadly weapon and battery.
Florida Man Eric Rim was taken to the Alachua county jail, where he remains with bail set at $95,000.
Like I said, try not to laugh at Florida Man Eric Rim for his stupidity. Florida Man headlines are the best. Was he a University Florida Gators fan? Or even UF student? Knowing how Florida Gators football players get down, I wouldn’t be shocked if he was on the roster.
